The 19th Annual (after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic) returns tonight (June 24) to the Yakima Convention Center to honor athletes, teams, and coaches throughout the Yakima Valley and Central Washington in 21 different high school sports.

Earlier tonight (April 26) on KIMA-TV's Action News, Sports Director Alan Sillence pulled back the curtain to his own office to reveal his collection of memorabilia that he has held on to during his tenured career in television covering sports in the Yakima Valley and Central Washington. At the end of his sportscast, he solicited viewers to send in photographs of their most sacred of places.

The Yakima Elks Club recently hired its first ever female greenskeepers and they happen to be my nieces, Kaliegh and Harlie. They were featured in a piece by KIMA-TV's sports anchor Alan Sillence on Friday's (Aug. 14) telecast.
