The 19th Annual (after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic) returns tonight (June 24) to the Yakima Convention Center to honor athletes, teams, and coaches throughout the Yakima Valley and Central Washington in 21 different high school sports.

Former Major League ballplayer-turned-TV-broadcaster Kevin Millar gave Yakima a shout out on yesterdays February 15th) episode of "Intentional Talk" on the MLB Network. As it turns out, he has extended family that lives in the valley!

Major League Baseball conducted Rounds 2 -5 of their annual amateur selections yesterday (June 11) and the Seattle Mariners used their selection in the 5th Round to pick a pitcher with some ties to the Yakima Valley.

In a press release dated June 5, the Yakima Valley Pippins stated that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and current protocols, they are "reluctantly" announcing the cancellation of the 2020 season.

Selah High School grad Carter Young, one of baseball's top amateur prospects, will be heading home this summer to play ball for the Yakima Valley Pippins in the West Coast League.

Tons of young men and women, as well as boys and girls, are getting a short thrift with the cancellation of school and organized sports for the foreseeable future. That's why we would like to use this platform to help us spotlight the student-athlete in your life.
