Yakima’s Marshall Kent Earns Top Seed in the PBA Tour Wolf Open
Coming off a successful 2013-14 Professional Bowlers Tour campaign, Yakima's Marshall Kent starts the 2015 Summer Swing by earning the top seed of the PBA Wolf Open at FireLake Bowling Center in Shawnee, Okla.
The current PBA Rookie of the Year averaged 240 in 12 games qualifying to reach the top of the table and prepares for the stepladder finals this Saturday (May 16).
Along with Kent, the finalists vying for the title include fellow PBA Tour titlists Bill O'Neill, Andres Gomez and Tommy Jones. Kyle Troup of North Carolina will make his first stepladder final appearance. Troup is the son of eight-time PBA Tour champion Guppy Troup.
Kent earned his first PBA Tour Title last year in the Saudi Arabia Kingdom International Open.
The 22-year-old right-hander calls Nob Hill Bowl home, a bowling center owned by his father, Jim Kent, a member of the 1980 National Collegiate Bowling Champions while at Washington State University.
The Wolf Open is part of the PBA Summer Swing, comprised of three tournaments on the Wolf, Badger, and Bear 'Animal' patterns, and the Oklahoma Open, all presented by the Oklahoma Grand Casino, Hotel, and Resort.
The tournaments will be presented via tape delay on the CBS Sports Network, starting with the Wolf Open scheduled to air on Tuesday (May 26) and every Tuesday evening throughout the five-week stretch.
