Yakima Valley Pippins Single-Game Tickets Go On Sale Today
The Yakima Valley Pippins have announced that single-game tickets for the season-opening weekend series against the Corvallis Knights go on sale today (Monday, May 10).
In a press release, Pips General Manager Jeff Garretson said that only a limited number of tickets will be available for upcoming games due to coronavirus protocols. Phase 3 guidelines say that the club can only operate at 25% capacity, or, roughly, 700 fans per game in attendance.
The season opens in less than a month on June 4th at The Orchard (Yakima County Stadium) on the fairgrounds at State Fair Park. A free souvenir blanket will be given away to fans and, following the game, a postgame fireworks show will treat all of those in attendance. There are roughly 400 tickets available for the home opener and roughly 450 passes are on sale for the June 5th and 6th contests.
Tickets will be available at PippinsTickets.com beginning at 9 a.m. today, or by calling 509-575-4487. All ticket purchases will be by credit card only.
Because of social distancing protocols, all available seats will be grouped in seating pods from 1-6 seats in each pod. All seats in the pod must be purchased in a transaction, so Garretson suggested buying tickets early.
The team is mulling the possibility of adding a section for people who have already received the COVID-19 vaccine but that is still a work in progress.
Seating in the beer garden on the third-base side of the ballpark and the picnic area on the first-base side of the yard will not be open to begin the 2021 campaign.
