Yakima Valley Grid Kids Football Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for Yakima Valley Grid Kid Association's 2017 youth football season which gets underway July 17th.

2017 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
A. The eligibility of a player will be determined by the individual’s age as of June 1st. Eight (8) year-olds eligibility age is determined as of September 1st.

B. Any player whose parent or guardian has outstanding obligations to the league or any team within the league from the preceding years or prior years will not be eligible.

C. 1. No player can weigh less than 50 pounds. Players that weigh less than 50 pounds at the time of equipment issue will not be registered and will not be issued any equipment.
2. Freshman (C) team is to consist of 8 and/or 9-year-old players, who can weigh no more than 120 pounds.
3. Junior Varsity (B) team is to consist of players no more than 11 years old, who can weigh no more than 150 pounds.
4. Varsity (A) team is to consist of players no more than 13 years old. Players entering the 9th grade shall not be eligible. There is no upper weight limit on varsity (A) team players.

During open registration for any YVGKA team, players MUST provide a copy of a current year sports physical and birth certificate. A copy of your child’s birth certificate must be submitted regardless if you have provided a copy to the league in previous years.

Sports physicals will be conducted through the YVGKA for a fee. Dates and times will be announced later as the start of the season approaches.

First practices will be on Monday, July 17th and the first day to suit up will be on Saturday, July 22nd. Deadline to register is Saturday, September 9th.

Currently, there are 17 teams from Ellensburg to Grandview with two vacancies in Cle Elum and Toppenish.
