Yakima Pippins Sign Son Of Mariners GM Jerry DiPoto
The Yakima Valley Pippins added two new players to their roster for their upcoming fourth season in the West Coast League today - one with a very familiar last name to Mariners fans.
Jonah DiPoto, son of Seattle Mariners General Manager Jerry DiPoto, along with Australian Mitch Ellis are the two newest names added to the club's 2017 roster.
DiPoto, a right-handed sophomore, is currently pitching at UC San Diego, while Ellis is a junior infielder at Western Illinois.
The Pippins host Victoria, BC on Friday, June 2nd to christen the 2017 season. Yakima Valley will also be hosting the West Coast League All-Star Game this year.
