YANKEES-FAN THROW

NEW YORK (AP) — A teenage Yankee's fan has quite an arm. Now, Yankee's All-Star outfielder Brett Gardner has a bump on his head to show for it. The fan threw back a ball that Toronto slugger Jose Bautista had launched for a home run at Yankee Stadium yesterday. That throw hit Gardner in the back of the head. Gardner flinched, but stayed in the game. Gardner jokes he has a hard head and is glad he wasn't hurt. Yankees manager Joe Girardi urges fans tossing back balls to at "least aim away from the players." The Yanks' loss yesterday was their third straight.
