West’s Boys and Girls wins in McDonald’s All American Game
Ionescu leads West to win in McDonald's girls game
CHICAGO (AP) — Sabrina Ionescu scored eight of her 25 points in overtime, and the West rallied to beat the East 97-88 in the girls McDonald's All American Game on Wednesday night.
Ionescu, the only uncommitted player in the game, scored eight consecutive points to set a new girls scoring record while winning MVP honors. She tied it at 88 on a pair of free throws, and then made back-to-back 3-pointers to give the West a 94-88 lead.
Amber Ramirez scored 21 points for the East on five 3-pointers. Notre Dame recruit Erin Boley added 13 points.
Jacksons lead West past East in McDonald's game
CHICAGO (AP) — Josh Jackson and Frank Jackson each scored 19 points, and the West beat the East 114-107 in the boys McDonald's All American Game on Wednesday night.
Frank Jackson, who has committed to play for Mike Krzyzewski at Duke, was 5 for 7 from 3-point range. Josh Jackson, who is considering Michigan State, Kansas and Arizona for his college choice, was 9-for-11 shooting.
Josh Jackson and Frank Jackson were named co-MVPs.
Jayson Tatum had 18 points for the East, and Bam Abebayo added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tatum also has committed to the Blue Devils.
