SEATTLE (AP) — Washington has signed five players to national letters of intent, inking one of the top recruiting classes in the country for 2017 led by forward Michael Porter Jr.

Washington announced a recruiting class that is rated by some recruiting services as being in the top five in the country. Along with Porter — the son of Washington assistant Michael Porter — the Huskies also signed guards Daejon Davis, another top 50 recruit, Jaylen Nowell and Blake Harris and forward Mamoudou Diarra.

Porter is the gem of the class and even at 6-foot-10 is considered a wing player. Porter is ranked among the top five players in the country by various recruiting services. He averaged 28.5 points per game as a high school junior.
