WELP, thanks to the pandemic, it seems like it has been forever since we've heard about a rodeo hitting town. Here is some rodeo news you can finally use: The 86th annual PRCA rodeo in Toppenish in a GO for a couple of days during the first week of July!

The first thing you need to know about this year's rodeo event is that there will be NO IN-PERSON TICKET SALES! This means every one who wants to go to the Toppenish Rodeo will need to purchase their ticket online. (See below.)

WHAT: PRCA Rodeo presented by the Toppenish Livestock Commission

WHERE: Toppenish Rodeo Grounds, 600 S. Division Street

WHEN: 7:30 P.M. each night on Friday, July 2nd, and Saturday, July 3rd

The event promises to showcase "the top cowboys and cowgirls in the nation" as they compete for prizes.

The question on people's minds (including mine) is, "Will we have to wear face masks at the event?"

Duane Gordon, the Toppenish Rodeo Vice President, says that hopefully by then, the mask mandates will be lifted. He did stress that "social distancing will be used and we will be following all the health and safety guidelines in place by then."

For the grown ups, there will be a beer garden each night after the rodeo to quench some thirsts.

DJ Armando will get the crowd hype as the entertainer on Friday and the band The Pony Boys will have folks dancing on Saturday. Cody Hodge is the Rodeo Announcer.
