TOKYO (AP) — The Tokyo Olympics have been moved to next year. But countless questions remain, including the exact dates. The unknowns revolve around 11,000 Olympic athletes and 4,400 Paralympic athletes. They also include 206 national Olympic committees, sports federations, thousands of contracts, and billions of dollars. You can add to this: 33 Olympic sports, 42 Olympic venues (43 if you count one used only for the Paralympics), qualifying events, and 5,000 apartments in the Athletes Village. Some of those apartments have already been sold. Then there's the matter of hotel and flight reservations, and again lining up the 80,000 unpaid volunteers. The Olympics can't run without them, not matter when they open.
