Playing in a torrential downpour much of the game, Mother Nature got in her jab to the Seattle Mariners nose after the Colorado Rockies had already bloodied it by completing a three-game sweep with a 4-3 victory at Coors Field today.

James Paxton fanned 10 batters and Kyle Seager hit a go-ahead homer with two outs in the eighth inning as the Mariners held on to beat the Royals 4-2 to wrap up a winning seven-game road trip.

Mariners lefty James Paxton returned to the form that had his club abuzz earlier this season before a stint on the DL in a dazzling performance against the Los Angeles Angels today.
