'Tis the season to be jolly. Unfortunately, 'tis the season for those real-life Grinches to come out of the woodwork and spoil this season of peace on Earth and good will towards their fellow man.
In a gut-punch of a post on their official Facebook page Wednesday (December 16), the good folks at the Yakima Ice Rink posted a series of photos and a description of what was stolen and destroyed after a thief, or thieves, broke into rink.

The damage looks pretty devastating. The worst part is that the rink is totally run by volunteers and donations. With the pandemic mostly shutting it down, the rink was already struggling mightily to keep its head above water.

Who would do such a thing? How can we help them restore and rebuild this great resource for the young and young at heart in Yakima?

Back in October, we told you about a GoFundMe.com page that had been set up to help defray some of the rink's expenses. It appears to still be up and running but is still way short of the $50,000 goal. In fact, as of this writing, they have only raised $2,460. Donations are tax deductible.

Can you spare a few bucks to help out? And to those that perpetrated this crime, there is a very special penalty box for you where it gets really hot!
