Seattle Kraken Grabs Shane Wright as Fourth Over Pick
It was a busy and exciting first day of the NHL draft, where the Montreal Canadians made Juraj Slafkovsky their first pick. The Seattle Kraken only had to wait to make their move that sent a stunning gasp throughout the Bell Centre by picking 18-year-old centerman Shane Wright of the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs as their first round pick and fourth overall for the NHL Draft. The Kraken fans are believing that Christmas came early with this pick and can't wait to see both Shane Wright and Matty Beniers to make an impact with the Kraken and in the NHL, like they made playing in the other levels of organized hockey. Kraken's General Manager Ron Francis and coach Dave Hakstol says they really like how strong Wright's two-way play is and with his 6-foot, 198-pound frame should do very well in the NHL game.
Shane Wright is very familiar with the Kraken system and what they are building in Seattle and is very excited about being a part of the future with the Seattle Kraken and for the opportunity to show everyone what he has to offer.
Day 2 of the NHL Draft is looking great for the Seattle Kraken! Keep following.
