Globally, he is likely most known as the co-founder of Microsoft or, more materialistically, as one of the wealthiest people on the planet. For football fans, specifically those who support the Seahawks, Paul G. Allen is simply the man who saved pro football in Seattle.

The franchise will honor his contribution, legacy and memory when they induct him into the franchise's Ring of Honor before their nationally televised game Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams. Allen, fittingly, will be the 12th man to receive the honor. Allen's sister and lone heir, Jody, will raise the ceremonial "12" flag in his stead prior to kickoff.
