Ticket demand for next year's Tokyo Paralympics is at record levels. The unprecedented demand follows a similar surge in interest for the Tokyo Olympics. The president of the International Paralympic Committee says there were 3.1 million tickets requests in the first lottery phase earlier this year. This far exceeds the 2.3 million tickets that are available. The demand surpasses levels for the 2012 Paralympics in London, which are seen as the most successful. IPC President Andrew Parsons says London sold 2.7 million tickets. Tokyo might be able to sell twice that many but it limited by stadium size.
