Rock Jock Talk: Mike Bastinelli Tabbed To Call Local High School Football This Fall On 1460 ESPN Yakima
1460 ESPN is happy to announce that Yakima radio vet Mike Bastinelli will be handling the play-by-play duties for all 11 games to be broadcast this fall.
Mike has been on the air in Yakima dating back to 1989. He has been a newsman for both KXDD, as well as a talk show host on News/Talk 1280 KIT-AM, a sports call-in show host on the now defunct KJOX, former Yakima Bears P.A. man, play-by-play broadcaster for the Yakima SunKings and he even did a few seasons as the voice of indoor football for the Yakima Shockwave besides the numerous high school football and basketball games he has barked out throughout Central Washington over the last two and a half decades.
These days he is the Public Information Officer for the Yakima Police Department but, given his druthers, he'd rather be calling the action!
We had a chance to speak with Mike today to get his take on our upcoming schedule which begins Friday, September 2nd when Eisenhower travels to Pasco.
