Just 13 hours after a thrilling 13-inning comeback win last night, the wind in the Mariners' sail was quickly and efficiently subsided by a brilliant pitching effort by the American League's leader in ERA and victories this season, Chris Sale.

Sale (13-4) went seven strong innings allowing just 3 hits while striking out 11 and walking 1 en route to a 4-0 shutout win over the M's in the final game of the three-game set that saw Seattle win the first two.

Seattle finishes their current 10-game homestand with three interleague games against the New York Mets before hitting the road for virtually the entire month of August. The Mariners record, once again dropped below .500 at 50-51.
