• USDA has followed through with plans to seek public comment on implementing a second beef checkoff.

The plans are in response to failure by the current Beef Checkoff Working Group to reach a consensus on changes to the checkoff.

USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack stated all representatives in the checkoff have agreed the program needs more resources.

USDA is stepping up at a critical juncture to help achieve the industry's goal.

The comment period is open until December 10th.

  • Feeding America® and Bayer CropScience LP are joining forces to help make the holiday season a bit brighter for people suffering from hunger by sponsoring “#Thankful4Ag” an innovative initiative that will provide up to 200,000 meals from November 10-December 19.

They invite people to visit www.Thankful4Ag.com and create a “digital meal” showcasing three of their favorite classic holiday foods. As foods are added onto the digital meal, the visitor will be provided with interesting facts about the origin of those foods and learn more about their journey from farm to table.

Every time someone creates and shares a meal, Bayer will donate 10 meals to families struggling with hunger through Feeding America.
