The Yakima Valley Pippins chased the Victoria HarbourCats out of the Orchard Wednesday night in12-3 romp that completed a three-game sweep of the Victoria team.

Andrew Woods shut down the HarbourCats with a six-inning, five-strikeout performance for the Pippins. Meantime, Yakima's offense got off to a quick start, scoring on a safety squeeze bunt by Jake Roberts, a sacrifice fly from J.C. Snyder and a Vince Fernandez added RBI single.

Victoria didn't get on the scoreboard until the fifth inning, when they picked up an unearned run -- but that was quickly wiped out by the Pippins' Shawn Wardian, who extended his hitting streak to 13 games with an RBI single. Josh McCoy and Taylor Snyder both delivered RBIs to increase the Pippins lead to 6-1.

The Pippins broke it open in the seventh, running wild on the base paths with five unearned runs and another Fernandez hit, a crushing triple off the outfield fence, making the score 11-1 Pippins.

The win raises the Pippins' West Coast League record to 17-10, keeping them safely atop the East Division. They're traveling to Bend, Ore., to take on the Elks tonight -- first pitch is at 6:35 and pregame is at 6:25 on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
