The 3,200 baseball fans who filled “The Orchard” (Yakima County Stadium) to see the debut of the new Yakima Valley Pippins were rewarded with an exciting 4-3 win by the home team over the Wenatchee AppleSox.

Yakima's Reed Garrett started the night off with a first-pitch strike and finished the evening with a strong 7-inning 3-hit performance for the win. Conner Lau got the save.

JC Snyder led the offensive attack of the Pippens by getting the team's first hit and leading a three-run fourth inning. Defensive gems by both Reed Garrett and catcher Troy Labrie picked off runners at first base to stop any extra scoring chances by the AppleSox.
