Saunders grabs early lead
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sam Saunders was the leader when the first round of the PGA's Genesis Open was suspended at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. The grandson of Arnold Palmer opened with a 7-under 64 that put him two strokes ahead of Dustin Johnson and four others.
Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington are among 11 others at minus-4.

ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) — The first two rounds of this week's LPGA event are over. The leader after 36 holes is Sarah Jane Smith, who followed up an opening-round 70 with a 67. She stands 9-under for the tournament, one shot in front of four players including Americans Lizette Salas and Marissa Steen.
