SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The Pac-12 championship game has been mostly an afterthought for the rest of the country the past two seasons with the conference largely out of contention when it comes to the all-important playoff. That will be far from the case Friday when there will be plenty of focus on how No. 5 Utah fares against No. 13 Oregon and whether the Utes are worthy of being one of the top four teams in the country.  The Utes have won eight straight heading into the game in Santa Clara, California.

(AP) — No. 5 Utah seeks first Pac-12 championship since joining the conference in 2011 and a possible spot in the four-team playoff when the Utes take on No. 13 Oregon in the Pac-12 championship game. The Ducks are looking for their third win in the title game and a spot in the Rose Bowl. The Ducks have won eight of the past 11 in the series but lost 32-25 last year on the road.
