Newman Alert, Walking Around Hospital After Crash at Daytona

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Ryan Newman is fully alert and joking with hospital staff as he continues to improve following a frightening crash on the final lap of the Daytona 500. He's been hospitalized since Monday night and no details on his injuries have been revealed. But Roush Fenway Racing said Wednesday that the 42-year-old driver is fully alert and walking around the hospital. The team also called Newman “jovial” and posted a photo of him smiling with his arms around his two young daughters.
