The marquee pitcher's duel in The Bronx between James Paxton and Luis Severino looked as if it was going to vaporize after just one inning. The two fireballers gave up a combined six runs in the first before settling in, however. The score remained 4-2 in New York's favor until the sixth when former Yankee Ben Gamel drove Nelson Cruz in to close the Yankee lead to 4-3 which is how it ultimately wound up.
