Following their sixth-consecutive loss on the road, the Seattle Mariners shook up their roster yesterday.

The club designated for assignment opening day center fielder Leonys Martin which means that they now have seven days to complete a trade for him or give him his outright release.

Seattle also called up first baseman Dan Vogelbach who was expected to platoon at first base with the struggling Danny Valencia coming out of spring training. The M's also sent Chase De Jong back to the AAA Tacoma Rainiers and called up pitcher Chris Heston to take his place on the 25 man roster.

The Mariners are looking to salvage the final game of a four-game series against the Oakland Athletics today at 1:05 p.m. The A's have won the first three contests and are currently in second place in the AL West while Seattle resides in the cellar, 5.5 games behind the Houston Astros.
