Kuchar Shoots 64 to Lead Riviera; Tiger Wastes Strong Start
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Matt Kuchar had a round that matched the great weather at Riviera. He opened with two straight birdies and kept right on going for a 7-under 64. That gave him a three-shot lead. Tiger Woods unknowingly had a tribute to Kobe Bryant, whose death is still raw in L.A. Woods began his round with an eagle putt measured at 24 feet, 8 inches. Those are the jersey numbers Bryant wore with the Lakers. But he couldn't hold it together. Woods was 4 under through eight holes, didn't make another birdie and had to settle for a 69.
