Ken Griffey, Jr.’s Son Trey Signed By NFL’s Colts
A day after the conclusion of the 2017 NFL Draft in which 253 players were picked by the league's 32 teams, hundreds of players did not get that call but are still expecting to join a team for a shot at making it in mini-camp.
One such player is University of Arizona wide receiver Trey Griffey - son of Mariners Hall-of-Famer Ken Greiffey, Jr.
Earlier today, Trey was picked up by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent. The younger Griffey, who was drafted in the 24th round by the Mariners as an homage to his fater, has not played organized football since before entering high school and has chosen to focus on football. In his career, Griffey amassed 79 catches for 1,241 yards and six touchdowns.
