Justin Thomas went into the new year a little disappointed by not having more. Thomas never suggested it was easy to win, and he was reminded of that Sunday at Kapalua. He won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in a three-man playoff. Thomas was lucky to get in the playoff when Xander Schauffele three-putted for par on the last hole. Then, he was lucky to still be playing after Patrick Reed twice had putts to win. Thomas now has 12 career victories at age 26. That gives him the most PGA Tour titles among active players under 30.
