Johnson Tees Off as No. 1 Player for First Time; Wie Leads in Singapore
MEXICO CITY (AP) — The first round of the WGC Mexico Championship begins today in Mexico City. The field includes Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth.
Johnson makes his debut as the No. 1 player in the world.
Mickelson is among four players who played in the first edition of this tournament at Valderrama in 1999.
The Mexico Championship has a different feel in so many ways, starting with the thin air of a club at nearly 7,800 feet.
