Try One of the Latest Food Trends with Freeze Dried Candy
Food trends come and go. I remember when chocolate-covered salted caramels came out. The first time I heard of them I was a little confused why you'd add salt to these chocolate-covered caramel candies but when you do try one you see why they're so great.
One of the latest trends in candy is to take popular candies and freeze-dry them to give them a new texture but keep all the same flavor. It's something you honestly need to experience for yourself.
The treats that are freeze-dried include Skittles, Salt Water Taffy, Gummy Worms, Peach Rings, Starburst, and basically anything chewy. It's insane as freeze-drying these items puffs them up and has a crispy but almost dissolvable texture, though the flavor is all still there. The saltwater taffies were especially great in that it was almost like small balls of cotton candy the way they disintegrate. Much like that astronaut ice cream you may have tried in the '80s and '90s.
I saw this display featured at Wray's on 56th and Summitview but I have also seen these available at Yakima's Ship Shop on 40th and Summitview.
Might be something fun to try next time you're feeling experimental.
