As technology advances we have ways of getting our energy from a more eco-friendly, greener sources.

And, as a collective, many are doing our part in making sure we keep our planet as clean as possible by doing things like recycling, not driving gasoline-powered cars as much, and things of that nature.

It's no surprise that one of our cities in the Evergreen State would make the top 10 cities considered most green.

Going Green in Washington State

Seattle finds its way on this list from Coworking Cafe as the fifth most green city in the United States.

And no reason why not.

Seattle was ranked first place for green energy generated.
Seattle was ranked fourth for both air quality and workers to commute by bicycle.
Seattle was ranked fifth in recycling participation.
Seattle was ranked sixth for charging stations.
Seattle was ranked ninth for people who take public transportation to work.
Seattle was ranked tenth for households with access to recycling in the state as well as coworking spaces in green buildings.

I honestly though it'd be higher on the list, but 5 ain't bad compared to other cities.

The number one city belongs to San Francisco, California. I suppose that kind of makes since as that town has always been known to be kind of a hippy town and more progressive that many other towns earlier than most.

Our friends in Oregon did themselves proud as well Portland, Oregon, making the third most green city.
