The Dollar Store Is Full of Shopping Secrets for Washington State Shoppers!

For me, Target is the higher end of the shopping spectrum compared to Walmart and Dollar Tree. I know exactly what kinds of things I can afford at each place, so depending on my budget, I can decide where I want to shop. And there are hidden gems inside the dollar store!
THE STRUGGLE IS REAL
I connect this “struggle” to the fact that people aren’t realizing they can SAVE BIG MONEY by shopping at a dollar store, especially since the cost of groceries has practically tripled since the COVID pandemic, (“supply chain issues”, my DONKEY)!
When I go shopping at Dollar Tree, I’ll go in for one or two things and come out of the store with two or three bags full of stuff!
It’s like the self-imposed “Target Challenge” I did when my daughter Willow was 4. I had recorded a video of myself going into Target saying, I’m only going to buy TWO things.
I made the mistake of asking Willow to hold the video camera as she sat inside the shopping cart. She talked through the whole video! She was saying things like, “Mommy, I love you SOOOO much!” and then while I was trying to mention why we were at Target, she goes, “YOU ARE NOT MY FRIEND!”
That was so cute and hilarious! I actually bought more than two things on that Target trip: it’s hard not to! I am the same way with dollar stores like Dollar Tree and Every Thing’s a $1.25.
Dollar Tree: A Hidden Gem for Certain Items
Some things I won’t scrimp on when it comes to quality and I learned a long time ago I won’t ever buy at a dollar store, like nail polish and makeup. Other items I hardly ever think about getting at a local dollar store that I should, because this place is a hidden gem and gold mine for buying the same items you’d pay way more for at another discount retailer.
I’m talking about things like canned goods, barbecue items, picture frames, socks, and toothpaste!
I typically go shopping at Dollar Tree when I need things like:
BIRTHDAY SUPPLIES (BALLOONS, TABLE DECORATIONS)
FROZEN DINNERS
NEW DISHES
HOLIDAY DECORATIONS
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
SNACKS
