My wife and I traveled to the Tri-Cities on Sunday. We did a little shopping and handled some work related business, but honestly, the main reason we were there, was a certain restaurant. Is Texas Roadhouse worth the hour and half drive to Kennewick as well as a 45 minute wait to be seated? Simply put… yup!

Now, their food is comparable to other establishments. As a whole, I’d compare Texas Roadhouse to Outback Steak House in Union Gap or the Buzz Inn Steakhouse in Ellensburg. Both are great, but both aren’t Texas Roadhouse.

Sadly, I didn’t think about writing this plea to the restaurant gods until I was halfway through with the meal. Otherwise, I would ordered a different meal than my wife and I would have annoyed everyone and taken more pictures.

Their chicken fried steak is our favorites. It is on the same level as Mel’s Diner or Waffle’s Café. The mashed potatoes is amazing, I have not found a good comparison, and their dinner rolls are 2nd to none! I give credit to the cinnamon butter.

I’ve enjoyed their burgers and pulled pork sandwiches in the past, and the combo appetizer is one of our favorites. I’m not sure who I need to bug, or which petition I need to create to get this restaurant in Yakima, but hopefully this article will make its way to the correct people and we can get this done! If by chance this does happen, I will be happy with it coming to town, as my legacy.
