I enjoy all sorts of movies. I love watching it on the big screen, and as long as the rest of the audience isn't rude or annoying, I really enjoy the theatre experience.

Cheering and laughing at the appropriate times.

Having a collective gasp or jump when something scares you!

When it comes to the horror variety, I'm an old-school slasher film fan.

Jason, Freddy, Micheal, Leatherface, Chucky, and for the not-so-old school, you can't forget about Ghostface or Art the Clown.

Thanks to a new survey from Hello Millions, I now know that I'm not alone in my love for Horror movies.

Analyzing data from IMDB, Letterbox, and Google searches over the past 12 months, the social casino website was able to track down America's favorite genre of film, and when it comes to Horror, Washington loves its scares!

Rounding out the top 6 of Washington's favorite types of movies are:

  • #6 - Animated
  • #5 - Action
  • #4 - Romance
  • #3 - Family
  • #2 - Comedy
  • #1 - Horror!

That got me thinking: what film have I seen that is a horror/family/comedy?

The film that meets (in my memory) the three film genres is a film called Harry and the Hendersons.

It's about a family that hit a bigfoot with their car and ended up adopting him as their pet.

Most would not call it a horror, but when it was released in 1987, 6-year-old me definitely got scared.

Reading up on the John Lithgow lead family horror comedy film, I didn't realize it was set in Washington, which led me down a Google rabbit hole!
