
Yakima County Republican Party Condemns Shooting of Charlie Kirk
The violence in America continues after a shooting Wednesday. The shooting of conservative political talk show host Charlie Kirk at in Utah has political groups across the spectrum immediately calling for the end of the "weaponization of labels and government." Kirk has died, according to the latest Associated Press newswire, citing President Donald Trump as the source of the update.
AN ATTACK ON FREE SPEECH
A statement just issued from the Yakima County Republican Party says the party condemned in the "strongest possible terms" the violent attack against Charlie Kirk today at a University event in Utah. Party Chairman Matt Brown says the shooting was not only an attack on free speech but also public discourse, and the very freedoms that define America.

THIS MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY, SAY ELECTED GOP OFFICIALS
Brown says "America, this is enough. Stop. Full stop. End it. No one should ever be subjected to violence simply for exercising their constitutional right to speak." He says what happened in Utah should alarm Americans no matter which political party you identify with.
Conservative talk show host Charlie Kirk was shot while on a speaking tour at Utah Valley University in Orem.
'A CLIMATE OF HOSTILITY' BLAMED FOR ATTACK OF KIRK
The statement from the Yakima County Republican Party also says the 'climate of hostility and intimidation' has gone on for too long. Brown says more political leaders in the community must stand up and speak out demanding accountability.
Other politically-related shootings this year have included Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.
The statement from Brown ends by saying the shooting of Kirk should be "a warning to everyone, every leader, every institution...to remember that America is built on the open exchange of ideas, not fear or intimidation." Brown also says, "America will not back down and not allow violence to rule in this country."
