Stay Alert: Wind Advisory Issued For Oregon And Washington, Gusts Up To 55 Mph Expected
It's time to batten down the hatches and give yourself a couple of extra squirts of toupee glue.
A wind advisory has been issued for our area that will begin to blow Tuesday morning.

There is a wind advisory in effect beginning Tuesday, January 9th at 4 am until 4 am Wednesday, January 10th. Southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected.
Areas affected are in Oregon, Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon, Grande Ronde Valley, John Day Basin, North Central Oregon, and Central Oregon. In Washington, Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Washington, Kittitas Valley, and Yakima Valley.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
Forecast for Yakima Valley Week of January 8th
Monday: Snow before 1 pm, then rain and snow. High near 34. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight: Snow likely, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all rain after 10 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 35 by 2 am. Light and variable winds are coming northwest at 5 to 10 mph in the evening. The chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Tuesday: A chance of rain before 10 am, then rain likely, possibly mixed with snow between 10 am and 1 pm, then rain likely after 1 pm. Snow level 2600 feet lowering to 2100 feet. Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Windy, with a west wind of 23 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 48 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Tuesday Night: A chance of rain before 10 pm, then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 27. Breezy, with a west wind of 18 to 28 mph decreasing to 7 to 17 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph. The chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday: A slight chance of rain and snow before 7 am, then a slight chance of snow between 7 am and 10 am. Partly sunny, with a high near 39. West wind 6 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday Night: A 10 percent chance of snow after 4am. Partly cloudy, with a low of around 25.
Thursday: A chance of snow before 1 pm, then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. The chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
