Time to Pump Cheap Gas? Wapato Still The Place To Save Money
Time to fill the tank this week? Average gasoline prices in Yakima are up again this week. This time prices have risen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.84 per gallon, according to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in Yakima.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Yakima is priced at 3.33 a gallon at Wheelers Country Corner in Wapato. The Wolf Den in Wapato is selling gas for 3:35 a gallon. The average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded in Washington state is $4.12 a gallon up from $4.10 on Friday.
EVEN THE NATIONAL PRICE IS UP THIS WEEK
GasBuddy officials say the national average price of gasoline has risen 10.0 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.34/g today. The national average is up 22.0 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 3.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
NO GOOD NEWS FOR FUTURE GAS PRICES AS SPRING APPROACHES
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy says a majority of states are seeing an uptick in prices this week. He says the trend isn't a surprise for this time of year and will "likely continue as the entire nation has now made the first step toward summer gasoline." He says the pinch at the pump has been manageable but he says the spikes will likely be more drastic as we make the changeover to summer blends.
