
Cowabunga! Fair Time Returns With Lots of New Fun Food
“Cowabunga - It’s Fair Time" that's the theme to this year's Central Washington State Fair set for September 19th - 28th at State Fair Park.
CELEBRATING THE IMPORTANCE OF DAIRY
Fair officials say the theme celebrates and helps to educate everyone about the importance of the dairy industry in the valley and the state. Everyone at the fair this year will be watch milking demonstrations daily at the newly renovated DAIRY MILKING PARLOR demonstration patio and walk-thru educational exhibits all about the dairy industry.
HAVE YOU TRIED A LAMBURGER?
A lot of people attend the fair just for fair food and this year the Lamburger booth celebrates 100 years. Fair officials say that makes the Lamburger booth the longest running food vendor in fair history. Just in case you didn't know the Lamburger booth was started by the Washington State Wool Grower’s Auxiliary as a fundraiser to support the sheep industry and youth programs like FFA and 4-H. By the way the name Lamburger was patented by the auxiliary years ago. Looking for some new tastes this year?

LOTS OF NEW FAIR FOOD
• S’mores Funnel Cake: Funnel cake topped with chocolate pieces, crushed graham crackers, and marshmallows.
• Carmel Apple Funnel Cake: Funnel cake with grated apples in the batter, topped with caramel sauce and
powdered sugar.
• Hot Honey Popcorn Chicken: Deep-fried popcorn chicken boat, drizzled with hot honey.
PB&J CHICKEN?
• PB&J Jammin’ Cone Chicken: Deep-fried chicken tenders drizzled with peanut butter sauce and jelly, served in
a sugar cone.
• Hot Honey & Pepperoni Pizza: Pepperoni pizza drizzled with hot honey sauce.
• Bacon Ranch Fries: Crispy French fries topped with ranch dressing, bacon bits and fresh jalapeno slices.
• Dole Whip: Original pineapple or strawberry Dole Whip served in a cup or cone, with the option to add rainbow sprinkles, shredded coconut, or Tajin topping.
WHO IS DR. POL?
Along with all the great food you'll find lots of live entertainment and a chance to meet Dr. Pol, or Jan Harm Pol, a Dutch-American veterinarian and star of the reality TV show "The Incredible Dr. Pol" on Nat Geo Wild. He'll be at the fair on Saturday, September 20th sharing his knowledge of helping animals.
SEA LION SPLASH SOUNDS FUN
Speaking of animals one of the new shows is the Sea Lion Splash at the fair this year. The show features rescued sea lions from California and South America, performing tricks and having fun with the audience. From sea lions in water to a special exhibit called Waters Extreme Journey. The press release says the exhibit educates everyone about the journey of water and the importance of water to the Yakima Valley.
Lots of great live entertainment plus a Motorhome Demo Derby, Motocross, and Jet Car Meltdown.
