Yakima Community Called to Action: Help Fight Hunger at Generosity Feed Event
Time to help your neighbors in Yakima.
Southwest Rotary of Yakima is calling on the community to help fight hunger during a special volunteer event, Generosity Feed Yakima, on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm at the Eisenhower High School cafeteria. All you have to do is show up.
200 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
It's a two-hour event with some 200 volunteers expected. Do you have time? If you volunteer a press release says you'll be working side by side preparing 10,000 shelf-stable meals to be distributed to local food banks and others who are the most in need in the Yakima valley. “We care deeply about every member of our community, and this event is just one way we can make a tangible impact,” says Tammy Granados, president of Southwest Rotary of Yakima. She says the need is real and Southwest Rotary and volunteers are stepping up to meet the need.

INVITE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND GROUPS
Granados says Southwest Rotary is working with local organizations to make sure the food reaches those most in need of the help like local food banks and social service agencies. Rotary officials urge the community to get involved to help out by inviting families, church groups, bussinesses and service clubs to join the effort.
Granados says it's an all hands on event to make sure needs are met. The press release says they're looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds with no prior experience required.
