If you're hungry for knowledge and food you definitely want to check out what's called Books & Bites: Free Food Fridays at Yakima Central Library.

The new program, which started earlier this month offers free food from local food vendors and all you have to do is show your library card. According to a press release from the Yakima Valley Libraries Books & Bites is held every Friday this month from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Yakima Central Library at 102 North 3rd Avenue.

IT'S A GREAT MONTH FOR A LIBRARY CARD

The library is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month. All you have to do is show your library card and you'll receive a ticket for a free food item from an on-site food truck. If you don't have a library card this month is the perfect time to sign up and start reading and eating. You can also purchase more food if you're still hungry after you use your ticket.

THE FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY LINEUP:

September 12 – Nicole’s Little Bit of Everything: Mini Funnel Cake
September 19 – Blissful Bites: 3 Count Mini Donuts
September 26 – Omar’s Buen Taco: Tacos
“Books & Bites is our way of celebrating the library as a gathering place,” says Sully Gama, Community Engagement & Impact Manager for Yakima Valley Libraries. “We’re pairing great local flavors with the joy of reading and the power of a library card.”
Books & Bites will be held every Friday during the month of September so grab a library card and a great book and enjoy some good free food.
