SEATTLE (AP) — Morgan Means scored 19 points and Matej Kavas scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as hot-shooting Seattle built a 16-point lead in the first half and made it stand up for an 85-68 Western Athletic Conference victory over UT Rio Grande Valley Thursday night.

The Redhawks shot 60.8 percent for the game, connected on 31 of 51 shots from the field, including 10 of 16 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Five players scored in double figures for Seattle (18-9, 7-3). Aaron Menzies posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and Josh Hearlihy added 13 points and seven assists while Richaud Gittens added 11 points.

UT Rio Grande Valley (14-13, 5-5) struggled from the field, hitting just 24 of 64 shots (37.5 percent). Nick Dixon and Terry Winn had 17 points apiece to led the Vaqueros.

Xavier McDaniel Jr., whose father played at Wichita State and starred with the NBA Seattle Sonics, scored 11 points.
