With more extreme temperatures in the forecast this weekend, the Pippins have decided to move the start time of this Sunday’s game against Walla Walla from 5:05 p.m. to 7:05 p.m.

The National Weather Service has already issued a heat advisory for the area through Friday evening, and temperatures are expected to stay in the triple digits throughout the weekend. By starting later in the day, the Pippins hope to offer a safer environment for players, coaches, umpires and fans.

“One of our top priorities is always the safety of everyone involved,” said Pippins president Zachary Fraser. “We hope our fans and those involved with the game will appreciate the move and getting to watch quality baseball in cooler temperatures.”

For more information, call the Pippins office at (509) 575-HITS (4487). Tickets are still available for all three games against the Sweets, including a special 11:05 a.m. start time on Saturday, the Fourth of July.
