Gonzaga Men’s Basketball to Grace SI Cover, Story, “The Program”
While print media has slowly eroded over the years thanks to the internet, it is still an honor to make the cover of venerable publication "Sports Illustrated".
In their upcoming February 23rd edition, Mark Few's Gonzaga Bulldogs Men's Basketball team gets that distinction along with the cover story titled "The Program".
SI writer Greg Bishop poses the question in the cover story, "Mark Few built a major program at a small school but has yet to win the big one. Could his current squad be the one that does it?"
Currently, Gonzaga remains undefeated at 18-0 and sits, again, on top of the West Coast Conference standings. With just three regular-season games remaining in their 2020-21 NCAA basketball season schedule, they are sitting atop the Associated Press's Top 25 ranking of men's College basketball at #1 in the country.
Could this FINALLY be the year that the glass slipper fits for the Jesuit school out of Spokane, WA? Why should it be any different than previous seasons when the Bulldogs made unbelievable runs during the March Madness tournament? Former Gonzaga star, the sharp-shooting Adam Morrison pontificated in a Tweet sent out by Sports Illustrated's official social media account:
By the way, if you are interested in purchasing a copy of the cover, suitable for framing, Sports Illustrated sells prints of all of their covers for around $25 apiece. They run from 10.5" x 14" up to 15" x 20".
Rock on and go Zags! \m/ \m/
