Free Movies Continue This Week at Chesterley Park
If you are looking for a budget and family-friendly source of entertainment, look no further than the 2021 Outdoor Summer Cinema series presented by the City of Yakima's Parks and Recreation Department.
The series began last week and will continue through mid-August. On the Parks & Rec website, they say, "There’s nothing better than watching a good movie with family and friends outside under the stars." We agree!
When Do the Movies Play and How Much Does It Cost?
One feature film will be screened every Sunday night at approximately 8:30 p.m. or when the sun begins to set. It is free of charge and open to all ages.
Where Will the Movies Be Playing?
The series is held at Chesterley Park just off of 40th Ave. and River Rd. in Yakima.
What Should I Bring?
Grab a blanket if you want to sit up close to the screen or a lawn chair if you'd rather be further back. Maybe grab a picnic basket filled with snacks and get ready to enjoy the show!
What Movies Are Scheduled to Be Shown?
Sunday, July 18: "Coco" (Rated PG)
Sunday, July 25: "Dolittle" (Rated PG)
Sunday, August 1: "Playing With Fire" (Rated PG-13)
Sunday, August 8: "Avengers: Endgame" (Rated PG)
Sunday, August 15: "Frozen" (Rated PG)
Don't "Let It Go" (this opportunity, at least!) and cure those chants of "I'm bored!" and "There's nothing to do!" by the kids as summer vacation rolls on. In the words of Siskel and Ebert, we'll see you at the movies!
