College football season is upon us.  Tailgaters are prepping the grill and the coolers for beer, brats and football fun!  The Huskies open at Boise State on Sept. 4, the Cougars host Portland State on Sept. 5.  Meanwhile, across the country, Penn State will take on Temple and win or lose, the Nittany Lions will either celebrate or drown their sorrows with a new beer made in honor of legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno. Called the 409 Paterno Legacy series in honor of his now-restored victory total, JoePa’s likeness appears on the cans, which soon go on sale around Pennsylvania.

A case will cost around $24-$25, while 12-packs are expected to retail for $14.  Pre-sale interest has been very good and a portion of the revenue generated will go to charity .

No word on how JoePa beer tastes, but if it’s great beer tasting you want, hop on our website noteworthy bar and check out America On Tap.    www.newstalkkit.com
