The old adage "The rich get richer" couldn't be more appropriate for the Gonzaga Bulldogs Men's Basketball team after sophomore standout Drew Timme announced that he would not enter the upcoming NBA draft and return to the Jesuit school in Spokane for the upcoming year.

In a statement released to the press, Timme stated, "I am excited to come back to Spokane and continue my collegiate career. I appreciate everything I've learned so far from the Gonzaga coaching staff, and look forward to growing my game more. I love playing at GU, being a part of the program, and can't wait to play in front of the best fans in the country again."

The Zags, who began and ended last season as the Associated Press's top-ranked team, fell one game shy of an undefeated season when they lost in the NCAA Finals against the Baylor Bears.

Gonzaga will almost certainly begin the 2021-22 season as the nation's #1 team with the return of Timme as well as the arrival of the country's top-rated recruit in Chet Holmgren despite losing star freshman Jalen Suggs.
