Colin Kaepernick Responds to Michael Vick’s Advice to ‘Cut His Hair’

Former NFL Quarterback Michael Vick has stirred up some controversy over his comments about Colin Kaepernick. As you may know, Kaepernick has not been signed by another NFL team and the consensus is that he’s being blackballed by the league for his national anthem protest last season.

During his guest appearance on Fox Sports 1's Speak for Yourself, Vick said that Kaepernick should cut his hair and present a clean image so he could look more appealing to team owners.

"First thing we’ve got to get Colin to do is cut his hair," he said. "Listen, I’m not up here to try to be politically correct. Even if he puts cornrows in there. I don’t think he should represent himself in that way (wearing the Afro). Just the hairstyle. Just go clean-cut. You know, why not? You're already dealing with a lot."

Vick also believes that Kaepernick's lackluster performance on the field last season could also be the reason why he hasn't been picked up by any NFL team.

In response to Vick's comments, Kaep went on his Instagram account and posted a photo which explains the definition of Stockholmn Syndrome. Part of it reads, "When an abused victim, develops a kind of respect and empathy towards their abuser. This syndrome is also called 'traumatic bonding' or 'victim brainwashing.'"

Clearly, Kaep thinks that Vick is an abused victim and captor of White America as a result of his dog-fighting scandal -- where he was the scorn of dog lovers across the country -- and his later redemption by the NFL, after serving two years in a federal prison for the offense.

Either way, Vick's comments are ridiculous. What does his hairstyle have to do with how Kaep plays on the field?
