Final round coming to an end

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Spaniard Jon Rahm eagled two of his final six holes to win the PGA's Farmers Insurance Open by three shots over Charles Howell III and C.T. Pan.

Rahm closed with a 5-under 67 that was capped by a 60-foot eagle putt from the back fringe of the par-5 18th. The 22-year-old became the youngest tournament champion and the first player in 26 years to get his initial PGA Tour title at Torrey Pines.

A playoff win goes to Lincicome

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (AP) — Brittany Lincicome birdied the first playoff hole to beat fellow American Lexi Thompson in the season-opening LPGA event in the Bahamas. Lincicome fired a 5-under 68 on Sunday for a 26 under total, one off the tour record in relation to par.

Americans Stacy Lewis and Gerina Piller were third and fourth respectively.
