Beavers’ Casey Ticked at NCAA Baseball Snub
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State baseball coach Pat Casey isn't happy about the Beavers' being left out when the NCAA announced the field for the Division I baseball tournament this week.
Oregon State went 8-2 against Pac-12 rivals that made the tournament. Casey notes that Washington, which lost two of three to Oregon State in April, made the 64-team field. Arizona State finished the Pac-12 season tied with the Beavers and made the field as well, getting a No. 2 seed in its regional.
Casey tells The Oregonian/OregonLive he thought the Beavers were a sure shot to make it into the tournament and he feels someone in Oregon State's administration should be asking questions about the selection process.
